Editing the Final Film
After gathering all the footage, we have 3 weeks off in which we are editing the film. Me and Macy decided were going to send each other our versions of the film edited until we find a common ground, pick our favourite bits, meet up and finish the final edit.
Currently I am editing the final film. I've added a 35mm grain filter to give it that mundane, northern, washed colour look which fits the brief. I am putting the footage together, clips between myself and Jacob in the same location and flipped between shots. I started the film in parkill to hint at them living in the same building. I finished the film with shots of them walking from opposite sides of the street and meet at the entrance of Leadmill.
I want to keep the film quite simple, real-life like and not too heavily edited with effects of transitions and I find the concept works better with simple editing with quicker cuts. I've added a few transitions but nothing major or too noticeable and a fade out after the Leadmill sign at the end.
