Final Concept/Shooting ideas
the final shots for our Fashion film and photo
We decided to alter our concept based on feeling the need for a stronger narrative. We added another character into the film and made the narrative about the two people meeting at the end of the film.
Concept: Two northerners discovering their home city of Sheffield. A sense of pride comes from this due to their love of living up north. The couple have common interests going around the city and happen upon each other at a popular nightclub; The Leadmill. A sense of excitement come with this as it showcases both of their ways of escapism through music, the mod scene and similar attitudes to their home city. The two are the perfect match and fate happens to bring them together.
Narrative: Two similar characters living similar lives, discover the city of Sheffield and find each other at the end of the film outside a well-known Sheffield based club, Leadmill. They become each others escape from the hardships of working class life.
Filming: We are going to Jacob mimicking Sally's journey throughout the film e.g on the Tram, going to the chippy, at the vinyl shop etc. To show the mundane living of a working class subculture. Doing this we wanted to celebrate what people love about the city and the community in Sheffield and how it was created. We filmed Leadmill, Park Hill flats, Pete McKee Artowrk, Bear Tree Records etc.
