Updates: Final Shoots and editing 11th April

We finished filming for our project today. Macy shot the film and photos and I was the protagonist in the film. We are both editing the film and sharing ideas on what works and what we could change. Next week I'm shooting a few photos around Sheffield for the concept manual and so the story has more layers. I may do some flatlays of the clothing for the Styling and MUAH section.

Me and Macy worked well together during filming and we're meeting next week to edit the final film together.  From changing the concept, we knew what shots needed to be taken and worked well as a team to get the right shots. We have 4/5 images we picked out from the shot yesterday and printed them on A3 to see what they looked like. I edited the photo and added noise to give this a more vintage feel.

Northern Soul: Netflix Film (2015)

After watching the Northern Soul Film, we had captured some ideas based on the creativity of the film, art direction and aesthetic as well as the mood created throughout. The movie followed two friends, one helping the other discover the underground (at the time) Northern Soul Scene. As well as the widely popular exclusive Vinyl Shops, best DJ's and moves. The film focused heavily on drugs which came along with Northern Soul as it moved up North. The art direction of the film was very moody, cool tones and a vintage feel as it was inspired by the time Northern Soul was around in the 60's. The scenes were gloomy, dark and reflected the working class culture that naturally gravitated towards this scene. Clubs were still very working class focused and Northern Soul had been seen to grow in popularity as the movie went on.
